As KBC celebrates 50 years of faith, fellowship and service, we invite members and supporters to write an official 50th Anniversary Song that reflects our journey, heritage and future.

Message & Relevance to Anniversary - 30 points

Does the song reflect 50 years of God's faithfulness, thanksgiving, unity, and hope for the future?

• Biblically sound and uplifting for the church

•  Lyrics mention / capture the spirit of the church and anniversary

• Suitable for all ages in the congregation

 

Originality & Creativity - 20 points

- Original lyrics and melody (not copied)

- Creative but still meaningful

- Fresh way of telling our church story

 

“Singability”/ Congregational Friendly - 20 points

It is very important that the entire church body be able to sing it easily

• Easy for the whole church to learn and sing

• Not too complicated

• Should have a memorable hook/chorus etc.

 

Lyrical Quality - 15 points

• Clear, meaningful words, good grammar

• Good flow and rhyme

• Inspiring and memorable chorus

 

Musical Composition - 15 points

• Pleasant melody and harmony

• Good structure (verse, chorus, bridge)

• Can be played by our musicians

 

Total: 100 points

 

Submission Requirements:

1. Lyrics typed/written + audio recording (phone recording is acceptable)

2. Must be original - your own work

3. Include Title, Name, Contact, and a short explanation of your song

4. Deadline: Sunday 11th October 2026

5. Song must be 3-5 minutes

6. Submit song to kingstownbaptistchurch50@gmail.com

 

Judging Process:

• Songs judged anonymously - using numbers, not names

• Top 3 songs will be sung live in church for final vote

• Winner would be announced on Sunday 18th October 2026

 

The winner will allow the church to use the song for the whole anniversary year and adjust lyrics slightly if needed.
